The Taxidermy Training Center of Northwest Montana, offers taxidermy instruction in the categories of mammal taxidermy, bird taxidermy, and fish taxidermy.

We call ourselves an "Advanced " taxidermy school, because the taxidermy techniques you learn in our course will enable you to produce customer mounts that are of competition quality. You will be well ahead of the competition, who may only be trained in "commercial" taxidermy. We do not teach 'hobby' quality taxidermy.

Our taxidermy classes are limited to 5-6 students in order to insure you receive the individual attention needed for this type of advanced taxidermy training.

We supply all of the taxidermy specimens & supplies needed to complete your projects. If you would like to use any of your own capes or furs, you need to send them to us prior to class for pre-approval. If approved, the appropriate credit will be applied towards your tuition. Besides tuition, your only other costs will be for travel, housing, and food.

Our full taxidermy course is six weeks long, for a total of 270 clock hours. (See taxidermy course schedule). In our six week course, you will mount 2 gameheads, 1 lifesize animal, 1 rug, 2 birds, 3 fish, 1 antler plaque, and learn basic tanning, as well as a wide variety of basic to advanced habitat techniques (including the construction of one glass case enclosed habitat scene).
For complete details on our six week course, please see our taxidermy-courses page.

We teach in an enjoyable, yet no-nonsense atmosphere, where not a moment of training time is wasted! The efficiency of our schedule allows you to have fun learning taxidermy, while never feeling rushed! And since your training is hands-on, the information and taxidermy skills you practice will soon become second nature!

If you are looking for taxidermy schools who include advanced techniques in addition to standard commercial taxidermy techniques, and if you would like to complete your taxidermy training it in an efficiently organized 6 week period, then our taxidermy school is for you! Please browse our site, and feel free to email us or call us at (406)827-5180 if you have any questions about our taxidermy school courses.
