Heron Montana is located just off Hwy 200 very close to the Idaho border. Many believe the town took its name from the birds that occasionally visit the nearby Clark Fork River. Heron is one of the wettest locations in Montana, and is known for keeping its lush green foliage throughout the entire summer. This tiny community provides the best of both worlds, with it's small Montana town feel, yet close proximity to Sandpoint, Idaho (Approximately 30 minutes).
